Afro-futurism Over Fear: A Discussion and Celebration of Black Panther

Tuesday, FEBRUARY 20TH, 2018 at 6:30pm-8:30PM

The release of Marvel’s Black Panther provides an ideal opportunity for us to uplift our work at the intersection of communications and culture, and celebrate an important cultural moment in the midst of a troubling social and political time. The overarching goal of the watch party event is to leverage a moment in popular culture to engage members of our network. Through the filmed event, the publication of a coordinated insight post, and possible media placement, we also aim to engage new and existing online audiences, and further promote our relevant work (specifically, our Black Men and Boys and Power of POP reports).
